Bitcoin ETFs Shed $678.9M in Week of Oct 5–9 as Oct 7 Outflow Leads

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $678.9 million of net outflows in the week of Oct 5–9, 2026, according to daily figures from Farside Investors. It was the largest weekly net outflow since the week of Jun 22–26, 2026 (-$1.79 billion), and it followed a week of +$241.1 million in net inflows (Sep 28–Oct 2).

The week opened mixed. Monday's -$89.8 million came from FBTC (-$74.5M) and ARKB (-$85.2M), partly offset by +$69.9 million into IBIT. Tuesday turned positive at +$118.8 million, almost all of it IBIT (+$122.0M).

Wednesday, Oct 7 was the heaviest day. Six funds reported outflows, totalling -$484.9 million, the largest single-day net outflow since Jun 25, 2026 (-$691.7M). IBIT (-$207.7M), FBTC (-$105.1M) and ARKB (-$101.7M) accounted for about $414 million of it, with GBTC (-$39.3M), BITB (-$27.6M) and HODL (-$3.5M) adding the rest.

Thursday's -$244.1 million had a different shape. IBIT was close to flat (-$5.5M), while FBTC alone saw -$197.1 million. EZBC was the only fund with an inflow (+$4.7M).

Friday, Oct 9 broke the streak with a small net inflow of +$21.1 million: IBIT +$22.4M and HODL +$2.3M against FBTC -$3.6M.

BTCO, BRRR and BTCW recorded no flows this week.

Fidelity's FBTC was the week's biggest source of outflows at -$380.3 million, more than half of the total, with redemptions on four of the five days. ARKB followed at -$207.2 million. IBIT swung from inflows early in the week to a large outflow on Wednesday and back again, finishing almost exactly flat (+$1.1M). The only funds with net inflows for the week were MSBT (+$7.8M), EZBC (+$4.7M) and IBIT.

In context

One weak week does not undo the larger picture. After these outflows, cumulative net flows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs since they began trading on Jan 11, 2024 stand at about +$57.2 billion by Farside's figures, down from about $57.9 billion a week earlier. The two weeks before this one were positive (+$2.39 billion for Sep 21–25 and +$241.1 million for Sep 28–Oct 2).
